‘КЕЕР UKRAINE CONNECTED’ project has started in Ukraine

The international project “KЕЕР UKRAINE CONNECTED” initiated by Global NOG Alliance is starting in Ukraine in April. Now, the first pre-launch stage of humanitarian digital aid from global network telecommunication companied has been completed and the implementation starts.

“KEEP UKRAINE CONNECTED” is a completely volunteer-driven initiative aiming to support Ukrainian telecom operators and internet providers who are taking every effort to maintain access to the vitally important information for Ukrainian people in all the regions of the county.

In close collaboration and dialogue between Global NOG Alliance, the Association of Rights Holders and Content Providers (APPK) and the Ukrainian Internet Association (UIA) the logistic issues of the projects in the territory of Ukraine are being successfully solved.

Thus, in March the National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radiofrequency Spectrum and the Provision of Postal Services collected the first critical needs of the telecom operators from the most affected regions of Ukraine.

Global NOG Alliance informs that a lot of telecom equipment is now coming in to help Ukrainian operators. The Chair if the project, René Fichtmüller, says: “Tech/IT is a one big family, and we should stand together!”

Distribution of the delivered equipment will be carried out on the basis of the ambassador of the project in Ukraine - the DEPS company, the leader of the Ukrainian market of distribution of the telecommunication equipment. The equipment will start arriving in Ukraine in the second decade of April.

Natalia Klitna, the Chairperson of the Board of APPK, says that at this stage of the project it is very important to provide a "green corridor" at the border for the coming voluntary aid. "We are appealing to the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine to take every effort to provide such a corridor."

About «KЕЕР UKRAINE CONNECTED»

A platform was created so that European colleagues can collect what the internet providers in Ukraine need to keep the internet up and running. The platform is the link between the tech community, manufacturers, whoever else wants to get involved and Ukraine.

The aim of the “Keep Ukraine Connected” task force is not only to mediate, but also to actively help the Ukrainian internet stay up.
