The optical equipment of DVO series is a component of the head-end on the basis of the DVX Teleste platform and is intended for the use in the HFC networks. There is a wide range of solutions to any problems in the fibre-optic networks that use the analogue signal CATV networking.

The optical DVO equipment is implemented as the modules of 6U height mounted in the same DVX001 or DVX002mounting racks, as the other equipment of the DVXTELESTE head-end, and can operate both directly as part of the station, and independently with the other signal sources.

Optical 1310 nm broadband equipment

The forward channel transmitter of the DVO901, DVO902 series is based on the reliable DFB-technology lasers, combined with high-frequency signal accentuator for ensuring optimal linearity and high C / N value. There are various types of transmitters with output power from +3 to +15 dBm are possible.

All DVO transmitters have an integrated driver amplifier, allowing a low input level of the high frequency signal and high characteristics. There is also an input adjuster of frequency response slope to compensate the effect of the coaxial cable; an extra RF input for the narrowcast signals and checkpoint connectors in it. The transmitters, like all DVX modules are controlled by the microcontroller and are fully compatible with CATVisor system management.

The System of Remote Access / Management:

Teleste provides advanced management system for its optical equipment. First of all, our equipment includes integrated software that ensures some additional flexibility in configuring the system.All control functions, including the signal levels, frequency response slope, pilot signal frequencies and routing, can be set using DVX Commander software. Any mechanical adjustments are not required any longer. Such measured parameters as the levels of optical and high-frequency signals, as well as the temperature modules, can be obtained by using the DVX Commander software. The adjustment can be carried out on site using the programmer or PC with the software. For constant management of the parameters and troubleshooting, the system of management of CATVisor elements can be used. In addition, the CATVisor allows you to centralize the management of emergency situations, deviation from the specified parameters and statistics along with automatic function of module reservation to enhance the reliability of the system. Simple Network Management Protocol (common abbreviation SNMP) allows CATVisor docking with different network management systems.

Backward Channel Technology:

Possible solutions for backward channel include the Fabry-Perot (FP) technologies with high economic efficiency, DFB for guaranteed network performance and 1550 nm technology for optical multiplexers (WDM). The technology of optical multiplexers is applied for backward channel in the systems where there is no free optical fibre. In this case, the forward channel uses 1310 nm wave length, while the backward channel - 1550 nm, and both the forward and backward channels are transmitted in a single fibre at that.

1550 nm Transmitters:

Where you need to send a signal over long distances or to use the maximum output power in order to divide the optical signal, you can use the equipment for the wavelength of 1550 nm. The equipment allows ensuring the signal transmission over the distance of 100 kilometers or more when using the transmitter with external modulation of the optical Erbium-Doped-Fibre Amplifier (EDFA) and optical receiver. When using a powerful EDFA optical amplifier, the signal from one transmitter can be transmitted to a large number of receivers. The forward channel frequency range makes 47 ... 862 MHz. The transmitter includes a powerful laser with an electronic modulator. It has two outputs for separate optical lines.

The DVO701 transmitters have defocusing adjustment to optimize the transmission distance and the laser beam diffusion in the fiber. When designing the equipment, the requirement of high reliability was taken into account especially. The philosophy of signal redundancy was extended to the power supplies as well. Installation of two power supplies connected in parallel, allows ensuring uninterrupted power. The DVO713 (13 dBm output level) optical amplifier can be used as an intermediate amplifier for the  distances of 100 km long or more, and DVO716 (16 dBm) optical amplifier is normally used for the distance up to 65 km. The DVO719 optical amplifier is equipped with an internal power divider that provides two outputs of 16 dBm each. Accordingly, the DVO922 optical amplifier is supplied with a divider in four directions. The optical DVO303 transmitter is intended for the signal transmission over the backward channel of 1550 nm wavelength. It has the DFB laser with +3 dBm output level.

Optical receivers of DVO series

DVX001 or DVX002 are also mounted on the uniform chassis as well as the rest equipment. The optical DVO801receiver of forward channel that works at the wavelength of 1310 nm and 1550 nm, suits perfectly for the nodes of optical relaying in a fairly large networks.

The backwardchannelDVO201 DVO202 (dual) optical receivers provide the reception at 1310 nm and 1550 nm in the range of -20 to 0 dBm input signal levels.
