Headend station of cable modems Arris Cadant C4с

Arris Cadant C4c is a new product in the bar of CMTS from Arris. C4c is built on base of compact form-factor 7 RU and intended for head stations of medium and small scale networks. С4с ideally suits for installation in buildings and columns with limited space or at head stations where there is no need in servicing of such number of subscribers as in case with CMTS C4.

Arris Cadant C4c is a highly efficient platform DOCSIS 3.0, using checked hardware and software technologies applied in CMTS C4.

С4с maintains aggregation of direct circuits in accordance with DOCSIS 3.0 standards. Aggregation of direct circuits allows operator to unite several physical channels into one due to which one can achieve considerable increase of transmission band compared to use of one direct circuit. For example, union of four direct circuits can provide band transmission up to 200 Mbit/s in direction from CMTS to cable modem.

From chassis C4c one can install up to 6 modules of cable access (CAM - cable access module). Thus, system capacity can amount from 12 to 60 return channels or from 16 to 80 direct circuits. As well system control module (SCM - system control module) and network access and route module are installed into chassis (RCM - router control module).

In platform С4с, used the same modules like in station DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS C4. Besides, they fully maintain CAM and power unit backup. In software they realized all functions maintained by station C4. В C4c fully realized support of Ipv6 protocol for flexible addressing within great scale networks.
